Wave is an accounting service that stands out because it’s a free service. It’s a really neat cloud accounting service, and it has everything you need to run your books – apart from payments and payroll, which you have to add separately.
Its user interface is very elegant and clean, keeping a minimalistic approach that let the user navigate the site without fears or doubt. During our tests we found that, although well-designed and realized, Wave is a little slow and usage can be a bit painful, especially if you need to spend many hours inserting expenses or syncing your bank account’s feed with Wave accounts.
We highly valued its features, because they are laid out with an exceptional care for their users: even if Wave lacks some professional customization that some of its competitors have, everything works fine. Given that the service is free, you honestly can’t find something better for this price point.
As with many bookkeeping services, you can invoice your client directly from the app, but beware of your drafts, for if you save them in your account, it will affect your balance. You can then send the invoice to your clients by mail, or Wave own delivery system.
You can add payroll (with costs varying on the number of your employees) and digital payment, which will cost you a percentage of the sale. Another extra feature is premium support: this will ensure you a faster support in case you need it.
If you can overlook the fact that Wave is ads-supported, you won’t find much at this particular price point – well, it starts at zero, so it’s challenging for its competitors…
