If you’re searching for a modern and open source project management tool, OrangeScrum may be the best choice for you. First impression

Thanks to the online interface you can easily reach, OrangeScrum is accessible to novice users not able to face installation and setup issues. The UI is neat, easy to navigate and understand. When you first log you’ll be provided with all information and instructions for each feature. The Help option is always available. OrangeScrum features

Orangescrum’s user interface helps you perform time tracking, quick task management, and project planning efficiently and reliably thanks to advanced features like In-App Chat, Time Log, Resource Mgmt., Kanban View, Gantt Chart, and Invoicing.

As we mentioned, the web-based version of the service works on top of a CakePHP framework, it’s open source under GPLv3 license, and it’s available on GitHub. A paid SaaS version is available, and it’s addressed to midsize-big enterprises.

When you sign up, you can choose an access URL. Once redirected to your dashboard, you can find all the features in the left bar and a summary screen with all the details on active/completed projects, tasks in progress, clients, time log, and activities.

Adding project and tasks is deadly easy: a plus button lets you add all details, assign a task to a team member, set a priority and a task type (you can even customize), a start and due date, drag and drop files and so on. The Time Log feature makes easy to keep track of all your logged time details. Thanks to Gantt Chart and Invoices tabs you can take a look at a clear picture of your projects and view, edit and generate invoices in a few simple clicks. The progress tracking and the Analytics feature help monitor who’s doing what, what’s been accomplished, hours spent on a task and what you have to do next.

A modern Kanban view with the better orientation and organization gives an overview of your tasks. The Users feature lets you add or disable members of your team and clients. A daily catch-up sends regular team and progress updates to your email address. OrangeScrum makes it easy to work with remote teams and respond to your team in real-time from anywhere.

Importing contacts from a Google account is possible. OrangeScrum sports an active developer community.
