Skype Lite: Microsoft introduces Skype’s light version for Android devices

Mumbai, India: Microsoft launched at Future Decoded Skype Lite, a new and sleek version of its VOIP & instant messaging app. Skype Lite has been developed mostly for cheap smartphone, focusing for users in developing countries.

Skype Lite client will have the most reliable connection even when you won’t have high-speed networks on hand. To properly work on low-performance smartphones, Skype Lite will be a 13MB app and will include a data usage monitor feature. This client will be available on Android only and will have the same features of its desktop counterpart – apart from animated emoticons. It will allow you to send and receive SMSs.

Although it’s designed to be as “lite” as possible, Microsoft has worked on its look and feel as well: it ships with Material Design, and you can choose between a day and dark, night theme. This will be great on old displays or in low lighting sets.

Skype Lite is already available on India Play Store, and it will be released worldwide soon. If you can’t wait, you can download Skype Lite by yourself from APKmirror.com.
