Towbook Review

Towbook is a web-based roadside assistance software with native iOS and Android apps that offers dispatch, impound, billing and accounting capabilities. The program can be used by companies serving individuals, body shops, car clubs, police departments and more. The sorting system allows users to add calls and assign them to drivers, with real-time updates showing all users the latest calls and dispatches. Photos and files can be added to dispatch records, multiple vehicles, trucks and drivers can be added to a single shipment and custom invoices can be created and emailed to customers since it has an integration with Quickbooks. When vehicles are impounded, Towbook automatically calculates storage fees and reminds users when state-required impound notices and letters are due, with the ability to automatically print notices.

  1. How this software became #1 is beyond me. It has operating issues daily. It is bad to lag and even freeze up at random times. The map is just google maps and does not show mile markers or update driver locations accurately. I always have to call after adding a new user because their id and passwords do not work after entering them. They do not report the details for all motor clubs under the request log. If you release a vehicle from impound it removes it from your current inventory even if you still have the vehicle. So finding a vehicle can be difficult if you do not know its status. In reports there is not enough options for searching so you just have to narrow down by what they have then open everything until you find what your looking for. These are just simple examples but they are all compounded when the program starts to lag and you have to wait minutes for it to correct. The staff is less than helpful when there are issues. They know nothing about how to operate the program. When you ask for help, they send screen shots of sop’s or want to send a ticket to the tech dept. The tech dept hardly ever answers and never fixes the problem. There are no training videos online or through towbook to help learn the program other than basic login and data entry. I would not recommend this program.
