How to free space on your Android device deleting useless files

A typical problem with an Android device, especially the cheapest ones, is to run out of space on your internal disk. Even if you use a microSD, if your device has apps, photos, and videos, it may well be necessary to clean up the phone or tablet memory to keep it smooth. How to free space on Android? First and foremost: delete anything that you deem unnecessary, either manually or using some specific app.

Clean up photos, videos, and apps that we no longer use

There’s an app for that: we know this. But we often download more than we really need, or we use an app once and then forget about it. Sort your apps out and choose what you want to stay and what could go it’s the first step towards a freed device. Then you can fill it up with something else! Go to Settings > Applications, select “All” and “Sort by dimension”: so you’ll see all your apps ordered by size. Select those you want to delete and tap on “Uninstall”.

Furthermore, it allows you to securely delete files, either them being useless, temporary or legacy files, optimizing apps like Spotify and their databases, hungry for space.
