MozyHome Cloud Storage Review

This is first and foremost why we are disappointed with Mozy: its tiers.

This is first and foremost why we are disappointed with Mozy: its tiers.

MozyHome Cloud Storage is an online backup service that ensures your data are always safe, thanks to military-grade encryption. Unfortunately, unlike other services like Backblaze or CrashPlan, MozyHome is quite limited in storage space: its base storage is only 50GB, and you end up paying as much as with other services in its category.

If you want to give it a try, MozyHome has a free tier that you can use up to 2GB. No credit card needed, no hassle, and you can also get more storage space by inviting your friends.

As for its features, MozyHome Cloud Storage runs both on Windows and Mac, and lets you scheduled backups, access your files from everywhere (from the web and mobile). MozyHome preserves your files for 30 days, and in the case of infection or damage, you can be assured that you can restore all your files and get back to speed in a second. (All your important files that you can cram in 50GBs, of course.)

We can’t say that MozyHome Cloud Storage doesn’t stand up to its own premises, but 50GB is really very narrow as an offer.
